Biography
Mattie T. Carter is the owner of Steer-liberty Consultant LLC, a minority owned business located in Chicago Illinois. She has extensive experience in construction management and urban development. Her recent activities included 95th Corridor Community Table member, 2023 Chicago Build Ambassador , Halsted Chamber of Commerce, Chicago State Board of Directors for the Alumni Association, and 1 of 100 Small Business Owner selected by BeyGood Foundation.
Mattie T. Carter was born and raised on the Eastside of Chicago, Jeffery Manor. There she learned about community projects and development as a young girl from her beloved grandmother, Mattie Forte. This exposure, inspired Mattie Carter to graduate at the top of her class with a masters in Geography Economic Development and certified Community Developer from Chicago State University in 2014.
Mattie’s passion is to manufacture and design prefabricated homes that can fit the budget of every family while enjoying the luxury and energy efficiency of new technological style homes. Mattie hopes to bring Modular Prefabricated designs that will bring solution to the housing shortage that has become a major concern in America.
